Vivo Performing Arts selects a new CEO
Vivo Performing Arts has a new leader.
Thor Steingraber will be the next president and CEO of the leading Boston fine arts presenter (formerly Celebrity Series of Boston).
In a statement released Thursday, Steingraber said that Vivo “has been a respected leader in Boston’s cultural life for 88 years, but what compelled me to join this organization is far more than its approaching centenary and rich history. I was drawn to the appetite for growth and innovation in this pivotal moment.
“I look forward to creating a roadmap to the future with staff, civic leaders, the Board, and its incoming Chair Cherié Butts.”
Steungraber is currently executive and artistic director of the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) in Los Angeles.
Steingraber will take up his Boston post in June, succeeding Gary Dunning after the latter’s distinguished 15-year tenure.
