In a bit of irony, the Boston Landmarks Orchestra has moved Wednesday night’s space-themed, season-opening concert indoors due to anticipated thunderstorms and heavy rain.

Rather than the summer series’ usual al fresco venue at the DCH Hatch Shell on the Charles River, music director Christopher Wilkins will conduct the orchestra at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. The eclectic program, “Symphonic Space Odyssey,” marks the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing,

Admission remains free but–due to more limited seating–will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The doors open at 6 p.m. There will be a Prelude Concert at 6:20 with the main program starring at 7 p.m. landmarksorchestra.org
