This week, Collage New Music will present works by both new and familiar faces to Boston’s contemporary music scene.
Sunday night at Pickman Hall, Collage will present the world premiere of a new score (title to be announced) by Benjamin Park, the ensemble’s 2018-19 Fellow.
The rest of the program will feature music that will be heard for the first time in Boston. Laura Schwendinger’s High Wire Act for flute, strings, and piano mixes spikey dissonances with soft, Ravel-like instrumental colors. Hannah Lash’s C for piano and vibraphone offers a fresh take on minimalistic procedures. And Sean Shepherd’s Lumens, a personal expression of gratitude for his good fortune, unfolds in sensuous lines for large ensemble.
The concert will also feature David Rakowski’s Dream Logic for winds, strings, toy piano, and melodica, a recent work from one of Collage’s most frequent collaborators.
The performance will take place 8 p.m. Sunday at Pickman Hall. collagenewmusic.org
