Boston Baroque will close its season this week with two performances of Beethoven’s Fidelio, marking the first time the opera has been heard in Boston on period instruments.

Mark Streshinsky’s semi-staged production will feature star soprano Wendy Bryn Harmer as Leonore and renowned tenor William Burden as Florestan. Rounding out the cast will be soprano Anna Christy as Marzelline, tenor Andrew Stenson as Jaquino, bass Nathan Stark as Rocco, bass Brian Kontes as Don Fernando, and bass-baritone Mark Walters as the cunning Don Pizarro. Martin Pearlman conducts.

Performances will take place 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Jordan Hall.
