The Boston Symphony Orchestra‘s celebration of the work of William Shakespeare will conclude this week as Andris Nelsons leads the world premiere of George Tsontakis’ Sonnets. A concerto for English horn and orchestra, Sonnets was commissioned specifically for this series of concerts and is a work that promises to be a dynamic musical exploration of select poems by Shakespeare. BSO principal English hornist Robert Sheena will perform as soloist.

Filling out the program will be works inspired by Shakespeare’s tragedies, including Richard Strauss’ Macbeth, Dvorák’s Othello, and Tchaikovsky’s ever-popular Romeo and Juliet.

Concerts will take place 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Symphony Hall.bso.org; 888-266-1200
