Rachlin to replace ailing Batiashvili in BSO program

Violinist Lisa Batiashvili has canceled her appearances this week with the Boston Symphony Orchestra due to a back injury.

Julian Rachlin will replace Batiashvili and will make his BSO debut performing the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto as scheduled Jan. 10-15. The rest of the program, to be conducted by Alan Gilbert,  remains unchanged.
