Boston Baroque presents a semi-staged production of an opera to end every season in grand style. This week the venerable early-music organization will do just that by offering Handel’s Giulio Cesare.

The cast for this production of Handel’s most popular opera includes a starry lineup of soloists. Soprano Susanna Phillips will mark her return to Boston Baroque in the role of Cleopatra. Countertenors Lawrence Zazzo and John Holiday will debut as Cesare and Tolomeo respectively. Martin Pearlman conducts.

Giulio Cesare will be performed 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Jordan Hall. bostonbaroque.org
