The Handel and Haydn Society will present Monteverdi’s Vespers in two performances this week before taking the program to New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Soloists for this moving masterwork will include tenors Jeremy Budd and Mark Dobell, who were both featured on The Sixteen’s Grammy-nominated recording of the Vespers from last year. Other soloists will be sopranos Margot Rood and Sonja DuToit Tengblad and baritones Woodrow Bynum and David McFerrin, all members of the celebrated H&H chorus. Harry Christophers will conduct.

Performances will take place 7:30 p.m. Friday at Jordan Hall and 3 p.m. Saturday at Sanders Theatre. handelandhaydn.org
