This week Boston Opera Collaborative will offer the local premiere of Conrad Susa’s Dangerous Liaisons.

The opera, completed in 1994, is based on an eighteenth-century novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, which tells a story of sexual conquest by two French aristocrats, the Vicomte da Valmont and the Marquise de Merteuil.

BOC’s double-cast production will spotlight Krista Laskowski and Emily Harmon as Merteuil and Andrew Miller and Scott Ballantine as Valmont. Rounding out the cast will be Laura DellaFera, Tamara Ryan, Jennifer Caraluzzi, Allesandra Cionco, Fran Rogers, David Evans, Shannon Grace, Julia Cavallaro, Sigourney Tanner, and Erika Mitchell. Performances will feature stage direction by Greg Smucker with Brendon Shapiro conducting the music.

The Dangerous Liaisons will open 7:30 p.m. Friday and run through April 1 at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts. bostonoperacollaborative.org
