For his final week of local concerts this season, Andris Nelsons will lead the Boston Symphony Orchestra in a recent work by Gunther Schuller.

Dreamscape was commissioned by the BSO for the 75th anniversary of Tanglewood, and the music, as the piece’s title implies, came to Schuller in a dream. The sparkling symphony in miniature promises to make a fine accompaniment to the other pieces on the program: Richard Strauss’ virtuosic tone poem Ein Heldenleben, and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27, which will feature Richard Goode as soloist.

The program will be performed 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday at Symphony Hall. bso.org; 617-266-1492
