Maurizio Pollini has cancelled his upcoming U.S. tour due to health reasons, including his April 22 Celebrity Series date at Symphony Hall.

“It is a real loss for Boston audiences to miss an appearance by such a distinguished elder statesman in the field of classical music,” said Celebrity Series president and executive director, Gary Dunning. “We can only wish him well and hope he has a speedy recovery.”

The performance will not be rescheduled or substituted. Ticketholders will be notified of options to exchange, take a credit on their accounts, donate tickets or request a refund. Patrons may also call Celebrity Series of Boston at 617-482-2595.
