Today we launch Boston Classical Review, a website that will comprehensively cover Boston’s rich and varied classical music scene. As with our previous successful sites, Chicago Classical Review and South Florida Classical Review, BCR will endeavor to cover the city’s music organizations — large and small, mainstream and offbeat — in a lively manner with informed, intelligent, fair yet candid writing.

We will draw upon the finest available music writers in the greater Boston area to review events as well as offering advances, profiles and longer articles. Reviews of events will be posted in a timely manner, before Noon the next day, which will help you to decide if a repeat performance is worth attending. I urge all organizations who would like to be considered for coverage to contact me at [email protected].

Also snowbirds and those who travel regularly to Chicago will want to access our Chicago and South Florida websites, as well as our national site, The Classical Review, which covers performances around the country and CD and DVD reviews. Click on the Sites button at the upper right of the homepage for a drop-down menu.

Finally, this project is in large part dependent upon you through advertising support. We welcome advertising from the music organizations that we cover as well as any business, school, foundation, entity or individual who appreciates the work that we do. Those interested in inquiring about advertising opportunities can send an email to [email protected].

We hope you will bookmark Boston Classical Review and make it part of your daily morning (or evening) reading.

On with the 2011-12 season!
